Draft Production Strategy

Promising location
The bridge over the Milwaukee River on Wisconsin Ave is at the heart of downtown Milwaukee. There are a variety of sights that are familiar to almost everyone who has even passed through on the bridge or Riverwalk Way, but there are also many things that may be overlooked regularly by even the most regular visitors. Gathering a wide variety of obscure and abstracted images from this area I feel I can create a video that is interesting to both people who have been there and people that have no ties with the place whatsoever.

limitations on light capturing activities.
I want to gather light in one of two ways. Using a small digital still camera I will take a series of shots creating the feeling of movement towards the open space created by the river at the bridge location by photos that sequentially become closer from four different directions. I will also gather a great deal of close up, abstracted images of objects around the space to use in the generation a rhythms and patterns using colors and shapes.

limitations on sound capturing activities
Using a similar approach to the one for light, the sounds gathered should be a mixture of identifiable and abstract sounds. The plan is to record ambiance sounds as well as using the structure of the bridge and other metal objects to gather unique and unidentifiable sounds to and the the sense of rhythm and motion.

Curiosity Three

How much of a city center is the Riverwalk area around the Wisconsin Ave Bridge?

Plausible Cause:

On my second Trek it had become very warm. When I arrived at the cities center, the Wisconsin st Bridge over the Milwaukee river it was jammed packed with people. I wondered if it was like this a lot in the summer. This is my favorite part of town, and having lived here only since September I haven't had the chance to see it function as a social place.

Curiosity Two

There is a large open area south of 6th street along the river. What is the future of this piece of property?

Plausible Causes:
I just felt like it was the perfect place for a park. It stands in the center of a great many condos, all of them converted from warehouse and factory space. The area seemed a little torn up, but had the evidence of grass covering it in the summer. I could almost visualize the trees and a fountain...something similar to the parks around the condos on the east side of Chicago...

Curiosity One

What types of persons (in the demographic sense) inhabit the condos along the Milwaukee River in the third ward?

The condos look very nice. For me the location is not as desirable as where I live. The Third Ward certainly has undergone a great renaissance. In winter though, I think the area seems sparse, at least compared to around North Point where I live. In the summer it might be amazing. The proximity to the festival grounds and the Milwaukee Public Market would be great...if you had money to afford to shop for your groceries at the Milwaukee Public Market.
